    Description

[Revolutionary War] 1776 Issue of The London Chronicle Mentioning General John Burgoyne's Arrival in Quebec. Volume XXXIX, NO. 3050, Saturday, June 22 to Tuesday, June 25, 1776, 8 pages (numbered 601-608), 8" x 11.5". The news comes from a letter written from Halifax, dated May 26, 1776 from an officer on board the Chatham. It reads in part: "We are still here, waiting the arrival of Lord Howe and reinforcements from England, but stand ready to depart on the shortest notice...When Gen. Burgoyne arrived in Quebec, he had not in all the forces that went with him 40 sick." Burgoyne headed the British troops which relieved the siege of Quebec and succeeded in forcing the Continental Army from the province of Quebec.

Condition: With uniform light toning to the page and a few trivial nicks at the edges, otherwise the paper remains supple and in remarkable condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
