[Republic of Rio Grande] Santiago Navayra Autograph Document Signed. 2pp. 12mo. (6" x 8.5"), with manuscript heading, "Military Command of Monclova", Monclova, Oct. 28, 1840. In large part: "With Cpl. Tomas de la Cerda... and sending a mandate from General in Chief Mariano Arista who orders it be delivered with the maximum quickness... said Chief advises I march, with all the forces I can unite, to join you [at Santa Rosa] and from there we march, united to join the forces at Rio Grande... we do not have ten good men left... I advise you so that you can expect this and have advised the chief of the impossibility... by today's mail..." Possibly relates to the Republic of the Rio Grande, although dated after the defeat of Federalist forces by Arista; it is indicative of the weakened forces of the Centralist government and certainly shows the depleted state of the Mexican army that would not recuperate to meet the superior forces of the American Army later in the decade. Ink has faded with some dampstaining, although still legible. From the Taking of Texas Collection

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
