    [Mexican War]. Soldier's Letter. Four pages of a bifolium, 8" x 10.5", "Saltillo, Mexico," August 9, 1847, to "Cousin James." Contains content about the war, as well as information about his "brother David" who is "on the frontier of Texas some where in the neighbourhood of San Antonio ranging he belongs to a company that has been made up in Clarksville." Some weakness and separation at the folds. Small amount of missing paper at the seal. Some stains and soiling.
