    [Mexican War]. Assistant Adjutant General William W. S. Bliss Letter Signed with a General William J. Worth Autograph Endorsement Signed. Two pages of a bifolium, 8" x 10", "Head Quarters Army of Occupation, Camp near Monterey," October 24, 1846, regarding communications between the "Mexican Executive" and the "Commanding General." In part: "Your note of this date enclosing sundry decrees &c from the Mexican Executive has been laid before the Commanding General, who entirely approves your order given to the Alcalde in relation to them." General Worth's AES on page four is from the headquarters of the 2nd Division in Monterrey dated on the same date as the letter and addressed to "Senor Alcadle" [sic]. It reads in part: "You will accordingly consider yourself instructed not to circulate any decrees other than such as relate, exclusively, to the concerns of this City. [Signed] W. S. Worth / Brig. Genl." Smoothed folds.
