[Civil War] Letters from Coffeeville. Three pages, 7.5" x 12", on blue, lined paper, Coffeeville [Mississippi], January 29 and 30, 1863, from a Confederate soldier of the Thirty-third Mississippi to his wife regarding the upcoming movement of his regiment. He writes, in part: "We are ordered to report at Jackson, Miss. at which place we will remain until further orders. We may remain at that place for some time or be sent straight on to Vicksburg or Port Hudson." Like most soldiers at the time, he remained optimistic that the war would end soon. He proclaims: "Fighting will all be over in a month." A revealing letter from a husband off to war to his wife. Folds are weakened and reinforced with tape. Evenly toned. Fine condition.
