    [Civil War]. Fragment from the Flag of the Ohio 110th Infantry Regiment, ca. 1862. Framed under glass, 7.5" x 5.5". A small 5" x 3" fragment of the Ohio 110th Regiment flag with a single silk-screened star accompanied by an autograph note which reads in full: "This Star fell from the flag of the 110 Regt on its way to Piqua to regimental reunion. The flag was presented to the regiment by the Ladies of Piqua when it left Camp Piqua for the front in 1862. Picked up on train by I. S. Dear Co. F 110 Rgt." Israel S. Dear enlisted in the regiment as a private on August 20, 1862. He served the entire war in Co. F and was wounded at Winchester, Virginia, and Spotsylvania, Virginia. Silk backing frayed and small area of tape residue on the note, otherwise in very good condition.
