    [Astronauts]. Scott Carpenter and John Glenn Signed Covers. The first, 6.5" x 3.75", commemorates the first day of the second orbital flight by an American, signed by Scott Carpenter, the man who made the flight. Postmarked from Patrick Air Force Base, May 24, 1962.

    The second, 6.5" x 3.75", commemorates the first successful orbital flight by American, John Glenn, who also signs. Postmarked from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on February 20, 1962. Both covers feature a Project Mercury postage stamp.

    With a 4.25" x 3.25" photograph of Glenn receiving an award from President Kennedy on February 23, 1962.
