    Mary Todd Lincoln Autograph Letter Signed "M.L." One page, 4.8" x 7.4", mourning paper, Chicago, October 20, 1865. Written to Alexander Williamson, tutor at the White House. Williamson was hired by Mary Todd to tutor Willie and Tad, her sons. The letter reads in part, "…Your telegram is received. It may be just as well to let the carriage be sold at auction. Your cards are just right, not too many - 4 full packs. The Express bill says $5.00; the money I will enclose to you & send by Mr. Isaac Arnold…"

    The letter is in fine condition; usual folds are present; stained along the vertical fold. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
