Description
Marie Antoinette Secretarially Signed Document. Single vellum sheet, 18.75" x 12.75"; Versailles; July 1, 1775. The document is in French (untranslated), and is secretarially signed on behalf of the Queen. Signed in the left margin by César Marie of Talaru, who was administrator of the Queen's estates, so the document may have to do with land. Talaru was later executed during the French Revolution.Condition: Two clean cuts at right, where the royal seal would have been placed. Otherwise very good with light soiling and flattened folds.
