Madame Chiang Kai-shek Typed Letter Signed. One page of a bifolium, 6.5" x 8", on blind embossed Chinese Embassy letterhead. Leesburg, Virginia; December 14, 1948. A thank you letter to John Hart Caughey: "Mrs. Coughey's [sic] mother sent a beautiful box of candy to Mrs. Marshall and me. Will you please thank her for us... I am having a delightful visit with Mrs. Marshall in her Leesburg home. Mayling Soong Chiang."

Colonel John Caughey served under General John Marshall during the latter's mission in China at the end of World War II to attempt to unify the Communist Party of China with the Nationalists. The Marshall Plan was a failure, and General Chiang Kai-shek would retreat to Taiwan along with the rest of the Chinese Nationalist Party. Madame Chiang Kai-shek maintained a lifelong relationship with both the Marshall and Caughey families.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
