    Louis Pasteur Autograph Letter Signed. One and a half pages of a bifolium, 5.25" x 8.25"; Paris; October 30, 1888. Great content letter regarding cholera: "We have just had a conference, Monsieur Marey and I, with Gamaleia..." Pasteur urges that Marey leave for Naples right away and writes: "Ever since 1884 Chantemesse has maintained by successive cultures the Koch microbe taken from a choleraic body. Dr. Chantemesse will send it to you himself, since Gamaleia... will start the experiments under your supervision... to arrive by the end of this week, at the hot virulence caused by the flight of pigeons..." Signed "L. Pasteur." Significant content showing Pasteur's interest in cholera epidemics.

    Condition: Flattened folds, with heavy wear ad creasing throughout. Frayed margins, with a few chips of paper loss.
