DescriptionLarge Group of Charles W. Lindberg Signed Photographs. 8 pages, 8" x 10", no place; no date. Eight black and white satin-finish photographs featuring Charles W. Lindberg at the Battle of Iwo Jima and the subsequent flag raising at Mount Suribachi. Seven are inscribed and signed in black felt-tip, " Charles W. Lindberg / 1 st Flag Raising, Iwo Jima, / Feb. 23, 1945, 10:30 A.M." The eighth photograph is signed, " Charles W. Lindberg." Also included is a color print of the flag raising with Lindberg in the foreground. 8.5" x 11".
Condition: Several photographs have captions with supplementary information about the battle that has been taped to the recto or verso respectively. Minute bends to some margins.
