DescriptionLarge Collection of Postmasters General Signatures. An extensive group of approximately seventy-five documents signed by various Postmasters General. Includes autograph letters signed, typed letters signed, autograph documents signed, documents signed, signed cards, clipped signatures, and signed photographs. Material dates from 1787 to 2004 and range in size from 2.75" x .75" to 16" x 10.5".
Included in this group are the signatures of Samuel Osgood, Timothy Pickering, Walter Q. Gresham, Return J. Meigs, William T. Barry, Amos Kendall, John Niles, Cave Johnson, Samuel D. Hubbard, Ebenezer Hazard, Jacob Collamer, Ira Kapenstein, Gideon Granger, and John Potter, among others.
Condition: A few instances of dried adhesive residue or tape on verso indicating previous mounting. Some documents are toned, rubbed, and foxed in places. Light to moderate edgewear. Very good.
