    John Tyler Scalloped-Top Sea Passport Signed "J. Tyler" as president. One partially-printed vellum page, 11.25" x 15", Massachusetts, October 20, 1842, allowing "...the Brig Volin [?] of Sippican Henry H. Brightman master or commander, of the burthen of 120 & 71/95 tons or thereabouts, mounted with no guns, navigated with 22 men to pass with her Company, Passengers, Goods, and Merchandize, without any hindrance seizure or molestation." Countersigned by Daniel Webster as secretary of state. With maritime vignettes at the top of the document; paper seal is missing with scratching where it was previously. Docketing on the verso. Toning along the edges with heavy toning at upper left corner.
