    Description

John Tyler Four-Language Ship's Papers Signed and countersigned by Secretary of John C. Calhoun. One partly-printed page, 21.5" x 16.5", October 11, 1844. The document, printed in French, Spanish, English, and Dutch, authorizes passage for Hearvey Shearman, "master or commander of the ship called James Allen" then "in the port of New Bedford, bound for Pacific Ocean and laden with Provisions, Stores, and utensils for a whaling voyage." Two seals are intact. The document is age-toned with some separations at folds. Some tape repairs exist along top and right edges. Small holes occur at some fold intersections.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
