Signed "John Steinbeck Stockholm 1962" in blue ink on the half-title page. Octavo. 11 pages. Frontis photo portrait of Steinbeck. Original publisher's beige wrappers. Light brown dust jacket with red printed title, "Acceptance Speech John Steinbeck The Nobel Prize for Literature 1962." The award, presented on December 10, 1962, was given to Steinbeck for his "realistic and imaginative writings, combining as they do sympathetic humour and keep social perception."*

    Condition: Minor soiling to the dust jacket, else very fine.
