John Hancock Free Frank Addressed and Signed in his Hand. One page, 7.5" x 5" (sight), n.p. [Worcester, Massachusetts], April 26, 1775. Addressed in his hand to "Joseph Warren Esq. & the Gentlemen of the Committee of Safety &c at Cambridge," Hancock has free franked the envelope to the left of the address panel. Handsomely matted and framed to an overall size of 14.75" x 13", an engraved panel below reads: "Written and signed April 26, 1775/Days after escaping the British/at Lexington, thanks to Paul Revere's warning/On the day the American Revolution began." Smoothed folds show some weakening, resulting in several small holes. Slight ink burn of the signature has cause some minor loss of paper.

The letter that was originally enclosed (which is not included), was a request on behalf of Hancock for an appointment for two soldiers, Edward Crafts and Nathaniel Nazro (also indicated on the envelope below Hancock's signature), saying the attention in the matter would "...give great Satisfaction to Mr. [Samuel] Adams & to myself..." Joseph Warren died less than three months later from a gunshot wound to the head at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
