John F. Kennedy Signed and Inscribed Copy of Profiles in Courage. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1956. This copy is inscribed by Kennedy on the front free endpaper, "To Anthony Amari / Best regards / [signed] John Kennedy." Additional pen notation above the inscription in an unknown hand reading "Anthony J. Amari." First edition. 8vo, xix, 26 pages. Illustrated with eight plates containing photographs and illustrations. Quarter bound in blue and black cloth with titles in gilt on the spine. Dust jacket.

Senator John F. Kennedy's writing of Profiles in Courage and his winning of the Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography certainly bolstered his reputation. During its first year in circulation, Kennedy narrowly missed obtaining the Democratic nomination for vice president. The work was later used as the basis for a television program highlighting some of the people "profiled" in the book.

Condition: Head and foot of the spine are mildly worn; the upper right edge of the front cover is bumped. Pages are lightly toned throughout with slight staining to the pastedowns. The dust jacket shows minor paper loss at the edges with toning and spots of foxing.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
