    John F. Kennedy's Fountain Pen Used to Sign the Old Age Survivors and Dependents Insurance Bill in 1961. The side of the clear pen reads, "The President - The White House." The pen's original box is included, reading in print on the side of the box, "Friday, June 30, 1961. One of the pens used by President John F. Kennedy at the Bill Signing of the Old Age Survivors and Dependents Insurance Bill. (Pen was presented to . . . [illegible] Powers by President Kennedy." A plaque inside the frame reads, "Presented by President John F. Kennedy to David F. Powers, Presidential Aide at the Bill Signing at the White House on Friday, June 30, 1961." HR 6027 Public Law 87-64, Old Age, Survivors, and Dependents Insurance Act, Amendment to the Social Security Act, was signed by President Kennedy on June 30, 1961, I the Oval Office. The pen and box have been handsomely framed in shadow box lined with red.
