Description

John F. Kennedy: 1934 Choate School Christmas Card with Note. 4" x 6" sepia tone real photo Christmas card depicting John F. Kennedy and two Choate School comrades (identified as "Rip" and Leem"). JFK (nickname "Ken") and his friends ham it up for the camera, using an Irving Berlin melody ("Top Hat, White Tie and Tails") as their inspiration. Kennedy graduated Choate in June 1934. He writes a note to a former teacher on the back side: "Hi Miss Burns - Hows Choate without us. I'll bet you don't hand out as many excuses - now that we're gone - Hows our old pal S.O.P.? Our best to her - if you know what we mean - love to you Miss Burns - from your old pals." A wonderful example of JFK's endearing sense of humor from an early period.
