John Brown: 1893 Handwritten Transcript of His Last Letter to His Sisters, with Authentic Signature Laid Down at Close. Four pages on a lined bifolium, [originally] Charleston, Jefferson County, Virginia, November 27, 1859 (Sabbath), to his sisters Marian and Martha. At the close, beneath the glued-down "John Brown" ink signature is written "A copy of John Brown's last letter to his sister Mrs. Marion S. Hand, by whom it was transcribed for her Pastor, Rev. W. E. Barton, May 9, 1893. The signature is genuine." A very poignant letter written from prison just five days before he was hanged, in small part: "I am obliged to occupy a part of what is probably my last Sabbath on Earth in answering the very kind and encouraging letters of Sister Hand...Say to all my friends that I am waiting cheerfully and patiently the days of my appointed time, fully believing that for me to die will be to me an infinite gain and of untold benefit to the cause we love... I wish my friends could know a little of the rare opportunities I now get for kind and faithful labor in God's cause, I hope they have not been entirely lost..." Excellent content and condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
