Jim McDivitt: Two 1971-Dated Typed Letters Signed. Both of these informative letters were written on NASA letterhead as Manager of the Apollo Spacecraft Program, as follows:
    (1) One page, April 19, 1971, Houston, Texas. In full: "I left the Astronaut Office in June 1969 to become Manager for Lunar Landing Operations, Apollo Spacecraft Program. In September 1969 I became Manager of the Apollo program. While I am serving in this capacity, I cannot be selected for one of the Apollo flights to the moon. Although there is no other feeling like flying as spacecraft, there is also a rewarding feeling in being a part of the management group. Being involved with the management part of the program includes planning the missions, selecting the landing sites, and determining the experiments to be used on each mission. It is a big challenge being in charge of the entire Apollo Spacecraft Program, but I plan to remain in this position throughout the duration of the Program." Signed: "James A. McDivitt". Excellent condition.
    (2) One page, November 18, 1971, Houston, Texas. There is some duplication of content from above. It reads, in part: "...I think that the space program is a very worthwhile project that will benefit people throughout the world, and I am proud to be a member of our nation's space team. Travelling in space is a very thrilling experience. From 200 miles up the earth looks very ferocious with its mountains, valleys, snow, and clouds; however, it is the greatest place there is, and I would not trade it for anything..." Signed: "James A. McDivitt". Very fine condition.
