Description

James Polk Autograph Letter Signed "James K. Polk." One page, 8" x 10", April 3, 1848. Written to James Buchanan when the latter was serving as Secretary of State, and Polk was serving as president. The content, dealing with the sending of documents back and forth, is routine. The signature is bold and dark with a lovely paraph.

The letter is in fine condition; usual folds are present; slight yellowing has occurred; small hole on the verso; mounting traces on the verso. The letter comes complete with a photogravure of Polk. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
