    Description

    James Monroe and John Quincy Adams Signed Patent. Three pages of vellum, 11.5" x 15", City of Washington; January 12, 1824. Patent 3,799X for Andrew Noble who "hath alleged that he has invented a new and useful improvement in the thrashing Machine." Signed, "James Monroe." Countersigned by John Quincy Adams as Secretary of State and William Wirt. With presidential paper seal and green binding ribbon. Contains a lengthy description of the invention signed by Andrew Nobel.

    Condition: Binding ribbon present, but pages are not attached. Lightly rubbed and toned with some minor foxing.
