DescriptionJames J. Dolan: A Signed Check from one of the Most Prominent Figures in the Lincoln County War. Dolan was a prominent businessman, widely suspected of ordering the murder of rival John Tunstall, touching off the War which brought Billy the Kid notoriety. Unlike many of the other principals Dolan survived the War and consolidated his interests, ultimately coming to run all of Tunstall's former property.
The Freudenthal family owned a number of businesses in the El Paso, Texas area, starting with a store found by Julius Freudenthal in the 1880s. They would go on to play an active role in the commercial and civic affairs of the city.
