Jacqueline Kennedy: Autograph Letter Signed to Evelyn Lincoln, 1964, containing five pages of poignant reminiscences regarding the Kennedy's and their children. Five handwritten and signed 5" x 7" pages and envelope, mounted and framed to 24.5" x 21," no place, November 9, 1964. This five-page handwritten letter is written in black ballpoint pen ink on Mrs. Kennedy's personal note paper from Jacqueline Kennedy to Evelyn Lincoln, former personal secretary to John F. Kennedy throughout his public career. Mrs. Kennedy thanks Mrs. Lincoln for coming to Caroline's first communion and for all of the attention and kindness that Mrs. Lincoln showed the children during their time in the White House. In a particularly poignant passage, Mrs. Kennedy writes: "Both my children spent so many hours in your office-It was the best way they could see their father-and if you hadn't been so sweet to them and made them feel that they were more loved and wanted there than any important visitor-they would have missed so much of their closeness with him-and they would have so many less memories of him." The letter is simply signed "Jackie" on the fifth page. The envelope has Mrs. Kennedy's free frank printed signature and is postmarked November 9, 1964. Overall fine condition. From the Robert L. White Collection.

From the collection of Dr. Dean Rudoy.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
