    J. Edgar Hoover: Pair of Typed Letters Signed. 1-page TLS on Federal Bureau of Investigation bifolium stationery, October 16, 1936, thanking E. D. Coblentz for a gift of a carton of cigarettes ("... they are the mildest I have found, and are non-irritating..."). Three areas of light tape discoloration, not affecting text or signature. Sold together with a single page letter from Hoover (simply signed "Edgar") to Coblentz, publisher of the "San Francisco Call-Bulletin", dated August 21, 1943, commending him for the excellent article on police training which appeared in his paper.
