    Wilhelm Röntgen Autograph Note Signed. One card, 4.75" x 2", n.p., December 30, 1905. The note is written on a calling card in German. Translated, it reads, "Sent to you with friendly greetings / Röntgen & Wife." The card is accompanied by a printed card in German which is translated, "Best wishes for the New Year." Wilhelm Röntgen (1845-1923) was the first to detect and produce X-rays for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901. Calling cards signed by Röntgen are rare. The two cards are matted below a lithograph image of the German physicist for an overall size of 9.75" x 15.25". Toned.
