Please accept my expressions of appreciation to you for your kind congratulations." Folds with very light toning along the right margin.

Also, a letter from the Edison Laboratory, 8.25" x 10.75", also on "From the Laboratory of Thomas A. Edison" letterhead, Orange, March 17, 1916, to Robert Tempest regarding the receipt of his letter and records. "...we have been holding them for Mr. Edison's attention. He has been on one of his characteristic day and night campaigns covering a special investigation for the last five or six weeks, and, therefore, he has been able to consider only matters of the most urgent necessity." With original transmittal envelope. [and:] A typed report from the "Musical Phonograph Division" of Thomas A. Edison, Inc., May 22, 1916, concerns the production of disc records. In part: "Before Mr. Edison went to Florida...he spent several months in research work to refine his record manufacturing technique...to eliminate from all records the intermittent surface sounds...and...to prevent the checking or cracking of surfaces. The result of his research work was a new and improved manufacturing technique...Loyal Edison dealers can now throw up their hats and shout. I very great problem has been solved."
