    Samuel Colt: Autograph Letter Signed. 7 7/8" x 9 7/8", 1 pg., (1852), Hartford, Conn. Colts writes to Firth and Sons regarding a shipment of pistol barrels. Reads in part: "It is now about two months since I returned home and as of yet I here (sic) nothing from the pistol barrels I ordered from you before leaving England. Will you be kind enough to inform if the small number I wanted sent here have been shipped, and if not when may I expect them. If they are yet to be shipped do so as soon as possible by steamer to the care of Moore & Baker New York. Very respectfully your obt. svt. Samuel Colt."

    Thomas Firth & Sons were steelmakers to the small arms industries during the 19th Century based out of Sheffield, England. The letter is in fine condition with a bold clear Colt signature and excellent content. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
