Ferdinand de Lesseps Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 10.5", Ismailia, January 2, 1869, to his sister, Madame de Cobaisur, sending New Year's blessings and looking forward to the opening of the Suez Canal that same year. Ferdinand de Lesseps (1805-1894) was a French developer responsible for the construction of the Suez Canal which opened in 1869. Folded. Moderately soiled. Slight tears by folds.Auction Info
