Alexander Graham Bell Typed Letter Signed. One page, 8" x 10.5", Nova Scotia, November 27, 1907, on letterhead reading "Beinn Bhreagh, near Baddeck, Nova Scotia." The inventor writes to S. R. Wrightington of Boston in part, "Your note of Nov. 12 sent to Washington and the duplicate sent to me here have been received. I know nothing of any fund, 'paid into court in Paris for my benefit which has never been withdrawn'. I should be glad to have you look into the matter for me."

Bell was replying to a letter he had received from Wrightington dated November 12 (the original duplicate that Bell refers to in his letter is included in this lot). In that letter, addressed to "Prof. Alexander Graham Bell . . . Washington, D.C.," Wrightington informs Bell that an attorney in Paris had notified him that "some years ago a fund was paid into Court in Paris for your benefit, which has never been withdrawn." The attorney had requested Wrightington to ask Bell if he wanted him to "collect any monies that may be due you."

Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922) was born in Scotland and emigrated with his parents to Canada in 1870. He worked in acoustics and developed the telephone, for which he received a U.S. patent in 1876. The two letters are accompanied by the original postmarked envelope addressed to Wrightington. All items are toned; Bell's letter has smoothed folds.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
