Ignace Paderewski Photograph Signed and Check Signed. The b/w photograph (4.5" x 5.75" [sight]), showing the intense pianist staring at the camera, is signed, "With every good wish of I. J. Paderewski 7/XII 1907." The copyright stamp is in the lower left corner ("Copyright by G. Nitsche").

The check (8.5" x 3.25") is drawn on the Chicago Savings Bank and Trust Company for $127.63 and dated February 7, 1916. Paderewski, the recipient, has endorsed the verso, "I. J. Paderewski." Cancellation holes occur through the "I. J." of the signature. Paderewski's wife has also endorsed the check.

Paderewski was an internationally renowned Polish concert pianist and composer who also served Poland as a prime minister and later as Poland's ambassador to the League of Nations. Both items are matted to an overall size of 10" x 15.5".

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
