Horatio Gates Autograph Letter Signed "Horatio Gates." One page, 8" x 9.75", Rose Hill, New York; August 26, 1795. A letter addressed to Richard Carson, concerning business and the welfare of those in New York. He writes, in part: "I am truly sorry for the disorder in your hands & hope you will be careful to subdue it in Time, but pray make no apologies about writing. You are so much a better person than myself as to render that unnecessary. There is no News since I wrote you last and as to the alarm about the Yellow Fever it has in great measure subsided. The News papers of this day contain a certificate from the Health Committee which will satisfy you in that particular. I have not been in New York for a week, but believe all your Family there and elsewhere are well..."
