    Henry Smith Signed Oath of Citizenry. One page, 7" x 3.5". A form printed by Baker and Bordens of San Felipe de Austin. In full: "IN THE NAME OF THE PEOPLE, FREE AND SOVEREIGN. Lodwick Brooks has this day appeared, and taken the path prescribed by law; recorded his name as a citizen, and he is hereby received as such under the Organic Law of the Provisional Government of Texas. 7th Feby 1836." Signed by Henry Smith as Gevernor and Charles B. Stewart as Secretary of the Executive.

    Condition: Unevenly toned, with minor chipping at left margin affecting engraved border but well away from text.
