DescriptionHenry M. Stanley Autograph Letter Signed. Four pages of a bifolium, 4.5" x 6"; April 11, 1895. Writing on his imprinted letterhead, Stanley declines an invitation to write an article for the "Youths' Companion" citing his overburdened schedule due to his candidacy for the Parliament. Stanley was successful in his campaign and served as a Liberal Unionist member for Lambeth North until 1900.
Condition: Single mail fold, with dealer pricing on the first page, and annotations from a previous collector on the last page, where there is also a small rust stain and light soiling.
