    Description

    Harry Truman Signed and Inscribed Color Photograph A superb, very large color portrait, with lengthy inscription below, written to his aide John R. Steelman on Jan. 17, 1953, just before he left office, 18" x 22.5" as nicely custom-framed. The ink inscription reads: "To Hon. John R. Steelman, an able and efficient Assistant to the President, a man of honor and integrity and one whom I am proud to call friend, with kindest regards, Harry Truman, White House, Jan. 17, 1953". While an assistant to the president for virtually his entire time in office, Steelman also served as Director of the Office of War Mobilization and Reconversion (1946), and Acting Chairman National Security Resources Board (1948 - 50). Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
