DescriptionHarry S. Truman Letter Signed with Holographic Postscript. One page on U.S. Senate letterhead, 8" x 10.5"; Washington, D.C.; October 31, 1943. A letter to Lt. Fred Whitaker sending apologies for not seeing him at Camp Lee. He writes: "Politics are really picking up in Missouri and I am going to be sorry I don't have you to ride around with me in the next campaign..." Truman adds a handwritten postscript: "I was counting on seeing you while you were here, I'm extremely sorry we didn't get together." From the Estate of Malcolm S. Forbes.
Condition: Usual mail folds with mat burn at all edges showing evidence of prior framing. A few drops of dampstaining affect three words of the postscript. Light wrinkling throughout.
