Geronimo: Signature on Card from Pan-American Exposition with Geronimo's Story of His Life Book. A bold pencil signature on a 3" x 2.375" calling card for "Mrs. M. A. Cleveland". It was lightly tipped in (now loose) to the free front endpaper of a first edition of the biography edited by S. M. Barrett, Geronimo's Story of His Life (New York" Duffield & Company, 1906). On that endpaper is written: "Milo Cleveland/ Brockport/ N.Y." at top and "Signed by Geronimo/ and given to father/ at Buffalo Exposition" beneath where the signature has been. This Buffalo Exposition was a World's Fair held in Buffalo, New York, from May 1 to November 2, 1901, now usually called the Pan-American Exposition. This was one of the major expos that Geronimo participated in where people paid to see him and get his autograph. The book is heavily-illustrated and in very good condition. The signature card is lightly soiled with bumped corners, perfect for display.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
