Georgia Secessionist Thomas R. R. Cobb Autograph Letter Signed. One page with address panel on the verso, 7.5" x 10.75", Athens, Georgia, June 25, 1846, to James Thomas, Sparta, Georgia. The letter reads: "Enclosed I have taken the liberty of sending you a packet of interrogatories which I wish you to have executed & return to the Clerk of our County. Our Court sits the 2nd Monday in August. The witnesses live at Mt. Zion I am informed. I will cheerfully reciprocate the favor to you at any time, or in any other things which lies in my power". Split on one fold, small area of marginal loss from seal removal, the manuscript remains bold. Very good condition. A staunch advocate of slavery and states' rights, lawyer Thomas Reade Rootes Cobb (1823 - 1862) served in the Confederate Congress before rising to the rank of brigadier general in the Southern army. The opinionated and vocal young Cobb was silenced forever at the Battle of Fredericksburg.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
