    George Washington Three Languages Ship's Passport Signed "G:o Washington." One partially printed page, 12.5" x 15.5", Portland; December 22, 1795. A ship's passport issued to "William Widers master or commander of the Schooner called John of No. Yarmouth of the burthen of one hundred & one tons or thereabouts, lying at present in the port of Portland bound for Barbados and laden with Boards, Joist, Staves, Sparrs, Bricks, frames, pickled & dried fish..." Also signed by Edmund Randolph as Secretary of State and countersigned by Nathaniel Fosdick as collector of customs at Portland and Falmouth. With blind embossed paper seal at center left of document and at bottom.

    Condition: Separations and minor paper loss at folds. Separated completely on the right side. Other separations have been repaired with archival material on verso. Darker toning at the folds. Light foxing and soiling throughout. Creasing to the paper seal.
