    George V Honorary Military Appointment Signed "George R. I." with a Royal Air Force identification bracelet. One page, 15.75" x 11.5", partially printed, "Court at St. James," January 1, 1920, granting to "Our Trusty and well beloved Richard Reginald Blythe...the Honorary Rank of Second Lieutenant in Our Royal Air Force from the date of your demobilization." The British Monarch has placed his royal sign-manual at the top left next to his name. Mounted to a backing board. Staining in the top right corner, else fine.     More Information:

    Blythe was a Canadian pilot and, as such, a subject of King George. He was also co-owner of the public relations firm, Bruno and Blythe, which represented Lindbergh during his historic flight and were responsible for promoting aviation as a viable mode of travel.
