George S. Patton Typed Communications (2) Signed. Two pages, 8.5" x 10.5"; circa 1914. Patton types and signs two responses to his commanding officer regarding an officer's sword scabbard. In response to a communication asking that he "take proper means to have the scabbard forwarded to you at your present address."

Patton types a response immediately below stating, "The address of the Ammerican [sic] Express Co. was Incorrect and should have been Care Military Attache, Paris, France" and adds that he has been in touch with them to located the scabbard. Signed. "George S. Patton Jr." as Master of Sword, M.S.S.

The second page is a response to Patton, notifying him that the American Express Co. has received a package addressed to Patton, which is likely the scabbard. Patton types a response directly below stating that he has been in touch with them and has received notice that the scabbard is in the Custom House in New York. Signed, "George S. Patton Jr."

Great association content. Patton was an expert swordsman and had competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. A year before these communications were written, Patton had designed the M1913 Cavalry Saber.

Condition: Flattened folds, with punch holes at top of both pages. Multiple filing dockets in pencil.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
