    Description

George Bernard Shaw Autograph Note Signed. Post card, 3.5" x 4.5", 29 Fitzroy Square, London, January 3, 1898. Tape repairs on postmarked side of card and some foxing; very good.

    More Information:

Shaw, the well-known Irish writer, suggests to Frank Haywood, Jr. where he might find a copy of an article by the Austrian Jewish philosopher Max Nordau. In full: "Dear Sir, It is just possible that Frederick H. Evans, bookseller, 77 Queen St., Cheapside, London E.C., may have some copies of the Nordau article left: I know he laid in a small stock when it was fresh. My own copy is not available just at present--I forgot who borrowed it last./ Yours faithfully/ G. Bernard Shaw." Frederick Evans, bookseller and acquaintance of Shaw, retired from bookselling in 1898 to become a full-time photographer, eventually becoming well-known in this capacity.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
