    George Armstrong Custer: Signed Check with Carte-de-Visite. 2 3/4" x 7" check made out to Thomas Polk & Co., dated February 15, 1873 in the amount of $15,00. The check is boldly signed by Custer with the cancellation marks not affecting the signature. With the check is a carte-de-visite by John Golden, Washington D.C. The CDV has old mounting remnants on the verso and some lower corner wear. The albumen image of Custer is in fine condition. A rare pair. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
