General Thomas W. Egan Autograph Endorsement Signed with Brady Carte de Visite. Two items, as follows: (1) A one page AES on a 3.25" x 4.25" plain sheet, Headquarters 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, 2nd Corps, November 7, 1864. A letter of recommendation for his orderly during Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House, in part: "His bravery and intelligence on all points were truly conspicuous, & on May 15, he received a dangerous wound, which has just healed. Respectfully submitted, T. W. Egan. Brig Gen Vols". Excellent. (2) A vignette head and shoulders portrait in uniform CDV with Brady backmark and canceled 2¢ tax stamp. Trimmed with clipped corners, else very fine. Egan participated in most of the major battles of the Army of the Potomac and was wounded three times in battle.
