    General Joshua Chamberlain et al: Three Medal of Honor Winner Signatures. 1" x 3.5" clipped signature inscribed "Danl Butterfield" affixed to the top of an album page, a similar example from the same album inscribed "J. L. Chamberlain Brig. Genl. Comdg." and a third example measuring 2.25" x 4" reading "Very Respect'y Your Ob Serv't. E. A. Carr Brig. Gen." Daniel Butterfield (1831-1901) won the MOH for his actions at Gaine's Mill, Virginia in 1862. He was severely wounded at Gettysburg and won fame as the composer of "Taps". Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (1828-1914) is one of the most famous generals of the war and won the MOH for his defense of Little Round Top at Gettysburg. Eugene A. Carr (1830-1910) served in the military for 43 years. He was wounded three times at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern for which he was awarded the MOH. These autographs were excised from an album of military autographs specifically assembled and donated for sale "... at the Army Relief Bazaar at Albany, for the Benefit of the U. S. Sanitary Commission February 22nd 1864."
