    Frederick the Great of Prussia Document Signed "Frederich". One page of a bifolium, 8.5" x 13.5", Berlin; June 14, 1740. An order to the Government at Halberstadt to forbid the passage of the Battalion of the Wolffenb├╝ettel Regiment through the frontier on their return from Hungary. The order also refuses the Regiment's passage through any Royal territories.

    Frederick II (1712-1786) ruled as King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786. He is known for being the longest reigning Hohenzollern king as well as for his restructuring of the Prussian army, his support and patronage of the arts, and his ultimate victory in the Seven Years' War.

    Condition: Flattened mail folds with moderate edge toning. There is chipping and some paper loss along the edges. The lower portion of the fourth page has been cut away. Foxing throughout. The black wax seal on verso is still present.
