Frederick Douglass Autograph Letter Signed "Fredk. Douglass." One page, 5" x 8", Washington D.C., November 30, 1885. This letter was written to M.M. Rogers Esq., and it reads in part, "…Since you have so much to desire a letter by my own hand, though I have more of that kind of work to do than ought to be required of me, I take pleasure in obliging you. I am glad to know that you are devoting your time, thought and talents to the education of the colored people of the South…" Douglass was an African-American abolitionist who lent his powerful voice and style to the struggle for freedom. He was born a slave, and through his work and passion helped to free many others.
The letter is in fine condition; edges are flaking and leaving small holes; obverse is stained with smoke residue, causing a white border to be present where it was framed in the past; usual folds are present. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
