    Franklin D. Roosevelt Typed Letter Signed. One page, 8.5" x 11" (sight), Albany, New York; November 3, 1932. Written on New York Executive stationery while Roosevelt was Governor of New York and addressed to a Charles E. Claghorn. It reads in full: " Thank you for your friendly letter of October 27 th and for your interesting article on the tariff. I am enclosing a copy of the platform of the Democratic Party and have checked those planks which deal with the question of armaments and our Army and Navy expenditures." Written just four days before the 1932 election against the incumbent President, Herbert Hoover. Roosevelt would defeat Hoover in a landside to become the 32nd president of the United States. Matted and framed with a black and white photograph of Roosevelt, the 1932 Democratic National Convention Platform brochure, and a placard. Not examined outside of the frame.

    Condition: Smoothed folds. Brochure is loose in the frame. Matting and glass inside the frame are weak.
